I heard this great analogy the other day about people who get in the shower, already planning what they want to say in their Monday morning meeting. In all honesty, I even fall into this trap. By the time I’m drying my hair, I have planned my conversations with 3 other people.
I’m willing to bet this happens to you, too. It happens to most people! So think, are you really aware of what you’re doing. Or, are you sharpening pencils, replaying the conversation you just had with your administrator? Are you listening to the break room chatter from colleagues? Or are you simply thinking about what you have to pick up for dinner on the way home?
