As I announced to our newsletter subscribers last week, I am excited to share that I am moving into a new career opportunity: making EducationCloset my full-time work endeavor! Even as I write those words, the butterflies are swirling around in both joy and nervousness. This is a huge leap to make, but it is truly time to take this professional development resource to new levels in order to meet your needs as an educator.
More than ever, we need creativity in our schools and in our teaching profession. As I have spent this past year traveling our nation through speaking events, book signings, consulting and coaching sessions, and presentations, it has become crystal clear to me that educators yearn to be able to move their students to success in whatever ways necessary. They need a tool that will enable them to unpack new education initiatives, understand the standards, and to weave the creative experience throughout the whole process. It is my goal, starting on January 1st, to make EducationCloset the premier resource for integrated and innovative teaching in the 21st century.
The best news about all of this is that I will be able to carve out more time for you. Time to accept more of the incredible opportunities to meet and work directly with teachers; time to coach and model arts integration in classrooms with your students; time to build tools that educators so desperately need to do all of the work that is required of them; time to truly interact with you through phone and email to answer your questions. I am looking forward to connecting with our audience in a more personal and meaningful way as I have never been able to before and I hope you’ll support me in this next chapter.
I need your help!
While I’m excited for the plans my team and I already have in the works for 2014 (spoiler alert: launching a new portal to the site, a new book, a new conference experience, and more), I want to know what would be most helpful to YOU. If you could take 1 minute out of your day and leave a comment below about something you would like to see on this site, I would be most appreciative. More than anything, this website is a resource for you and nothing that we do here matters if it’s not going to be useful to the work you’re doing each and every day. So please help us out and let us know how we can best serve you!
Thank you for being the most supportive, engaging and thoughtful readership in all of education. I am proud to take this next step with and for each of you.
