alivealertawakeenthusiasticWhen I heard that the theme for this week at Education Closet was “Spring Cleaning” I started to think about how I would start to feel over the course of the month of March when I was a classroom teacher.  March sometimes felt interminable, especially in Vermont!  The song with movements I am going to share with you today can be a great tool for enlivening or refocusing the class’ energy, sharing some serious silliness (I’ve even seen it used at a staff meeting with great success!), and making an uplifting transition.  Please be sure to sing and move along as you watch and then keep it in your pocket ready to pull out when you need it most!  Just click on the song title below and get ready to sing….

Not only will I be “borrowing” this song for my class, but it has given me some great ideas on how to incorporate audiating for other parts of the daily routine also! I have a class that often doesn’t (yet) hear or adhere to the spoken or sung cues I am trying to give them for transitions and I was beginning to get frustrated. This is a great solution for that, thank you!
