As you know, we’ve been very excited about the launch of our four online classes dedicated to professional development and support of arts integration initiatives. Each class provides core resources and materials to lift up your arts integration efforts. The nice thing about all of this is that it’s online. I’ve taught and attended so many of these kinds of classes in person before, but it is so powerful to be able to connect with people from all over the country!
A great site for professional development is the Teacher Center on PBS.org. PBS has developed a wide selection of online classes that can be taken by anyone K-12. These courses are led by national leaders in their fields, and are aligned with Common Core objectives and best practices, ensuring top-of-the-line educational opportunities. They are a little bit pricier as an online course option, but they also are longer and include so many choices, it’s hard to pass the courses up!
For other ways to inspire your creativity and professional growth, I also recommend going to TEDTalks, where conversations with some of the best minds in education are contributed daily. Here you can watch Ken Robinson, Marcia Tate and Heidi Hayes Jacobs talk about the latest from their fields. Looking for more art inspiration? I’m so inspired by the vast amount of choices when it comes to continuing education and professional growth online! There are so many options out there, but many are just fluff. These sites that I highlighted today are truly some of the best out there for the focus areas we need as educators. I hope you will check them out and give yourself the gift to grow: professionally and personally. I know that once you experience online learning that is personalized to you, you will never go back to the “old” way of doing things ever again!
