Sparkchasers Season 3 Episode 1: Ignite Your Teaching through the Creative Process

Who’s ready for a new season of Sparkchasers??  We are totally excited to kick off Season 3 this month, just as many of you are going back to your classrooms to get ready for the start of a new school year.  While you’re driving to your building, or even hanging up those new bulletin boards, go ahead and play today’s podcast for a fresh dose of inspiration!

This season, we’re mixing things up!  My co-host for Seasons 1 and 2, Greg Pilewski, is moving on to new projects (as all creatives must!), so I’m going solo this time around.  But as I share in the podcast, that also provides some new and exciting possibilities (spoiler alert: guests on the show are a distinct possibility this season).

For Season 3, we focusing on the Creative Process as a way to integrate across all content areas.  I started thinking about this way back in the spring when designing our new online training class The Creative Mindset Blueprint, mostly because I was getting more and more annoyed at the fact that what we’re saying isn’t matching our actions in education.  We claim to want all of our students to be innovators, creators and makers of the future, but are we really preparing them for that reality?

I don’t think so.  We still have pacing guides and insane tests that measure nothing of value.  But there is a better way!  In today’s episode, I’m sharing the elements of the creative process and how we can all use them as a springboard for teaching and learning in a new way.  Take a listen!
